Georgia · safety check

The state's own warning: no centralized Georgia ticket database exists. Sites selling a “statewide search”? Red flag.

Georgia says it plainly on its own courts site: there is no centralized citation database. Tickets are paid through the city or county court that issued them, and the official locate-or-pay page at georgiacourts.gov routes you there. Any site selling a “statewide Georgia ticket search” is selling something Georgia doesn't have.

The domain check

The official door is georgiacourts.gov/locate-or-pay-my-ticket/ — the Judicial Council's own page. It routes to your issuing court, which may use a payment vendor (Government Window, EZ Court Pay, JusticeONE Pay; Atlanta Municipal uses nCourt via atlantaga.gov). Reaching the vendor through the court's page is what makes it safe.

  • Because Georgia has no statewide database, third-party “Georgia ticket search” brands fill the gap in search results — the state itself flags these. Treat any statewide-search claim as the tell.
  • Real Georgia courts do use commercial payment vendors — which is exactly why the path matters: go court page → vendor, never search ad → vendor lookalike.
  • Timing tell: tickets often take 7-21 business days to become payable online. A site that “finds” your brand-new ticket instantly is guessing — or phishing.
  • Georgia's escape hatch is the nolo contendere plea — once every five years, it keeps the points off your license (not available under 21 or on a CDL). Paying online as a plain guilty plea spends the ticket without using it. Run the Georgia verdict machine →
  • A points-reduction course can wipe up to 7 points under OCGA 40-5-86 — useful after the fact, but the nolo decision has to happen before you pay.
  • At 75+ mph on a two-lane road or 85+ anywhere, Georgia's Super Speeder law adds a $200 state fee on top of the local fine — budget the real number before paying.

Not sure what the citation is actually charging, which court it names, or when the clock runs out? Photograph it — the scanner reads every legible line and routes you to your options. The photo is processed in memory and never stored. How Ticket Scan works →
