Florida · safety check

PayFLClerk is legit. The 30-day clock you might waive by paying? Very real.

Florida tickets are paid in the county that issued them, through that county's clerk of court. PayFLClerk.com is the clerks' official statewide gateway — a rare .com that really is the government door. What surrounds it in search results often is not, and paying blind can waive the option that keeps points off your license.

The domain check

The official gateway is payflclerk.com, run for the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers and linked from flhsmv.gov. It routes you to the issuing county's own clerk site — Miami-Dade at miamidadeclerk.gov, Broward at browardclerk.org, and so on.

  • Lookalike sites wrap Florida ticket payment in “service fees” or collect card details on forms the clerk never sees. The clerks' own gateway adds no middleman.
  • The county matters: pay through the clerk of the county printed top-left on your citation, not whichever county a search result happens to serve.
  • The tell is the domain. payflclerk.com and county clerk domains (miamidadeclerk.gov, browardclerk.org) are real; a lookalike with “florida-ticket” in the name is not the clerk.
  • Florida gives you 30 days from the citation to respond — and paying WITHOUT electing the Basic Driver Improvement course is how points end up on your license. Electing the course first (F.S. 318.14) keeps them off entirely. Run the Florida verdict machine →
  • Points stack toward automatic suspensions at 12, 18, and 24 points. Know where a paid ticket puts you before you pay it. Florida points calculator →
  • 50 or more over the limit is a different universe — criminal exposure under the 2025 dangerous-excessive-speeding law, and no online payment resolves it. Check the 50-over line →

Not sure what the citation is actually charging, which court it names, or when the clock runs out? Photograph it — the scanner reads every legible line and routes you to your options. The photo is processed in memory and never stored. How Ticket Scan works →
